The Championships are open to any player meeting the age and nationality criteria, and regularly sees over 200 players competing for the prestigious National Title over the three days of competition.

The 2007 Championships, once again sponsored by Yehlex, offers all five disciplines (Men's and Women's Singles, Men's and Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles) for age groups over 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70.

It is also a chance for veteran players to test their skills against other players from around the country, and gain valuable English National Ranking Points. The Yehlex English National Veterans' Championships are also one of the tournaments used by the selection committee for veteran International matches such as the England v Scotland McCoig Trophy in Scotland (January).
