Here are the photo's from the Christmas Night out. Went into Cardiff. Had a fab time!

Rebels Xmas Party

Had a break after crashing out of the Yonex Open on the Rebels Xmas party. Thanks for all who attended - was a great night. Pics below.

Practice Sessions

Saturdays session went well - the three hours worked well I thought - shame we only had 3 women and 7 men attend though.

Looking forward to this weeks match, the team will be picked on Wednesday and announced Thursday morning. Watch this space.

Quite happy as have given myself a FAT day - off for a curry in Ystrad Indian with my brother - found this pic of Chairman Wilson birthday last year.

Armed Forces Challenged

Was crawling the various badminton sites and noticed that the British Army and Navy both have good badmintion teams in place.

Have emailed the Army to see if they are interested in a friendly, maybe in the off season - you never know they might even take us through an assault course.
Apart from a couple of pints of Lager after training - not good I know but at least I am honest - diet is going strong.

Which is good as the draw for the Yonex Welsh International shows I made it into the doubles with Mr Day.

Very please to see a good turnout for Mid Glamorgan players in this event.

Total list published as article on main.

Looking forward to the weigh in on Saturday - First day back at Holland House gym for 2 months. Pain is the order of the day.

No weights - pure cardio - followed by two hours of badminton in Abercynon.

Do it - Do it now !

Chubber Lang

Hit Richards academy last night and boy do I feel like a chubber :(

Day 2 of the strip down (88 to go - and over Xmas - sucks) I woke up this morning thinking how the hell did I put on 2.5 stone again.

Not impressed with myself at all. Hopefully I can recreate last seasons strip down just as quick.

Fat graphs

18 months ago I trimmed down from 18.5 stone to 14 stone.

Due to my love of Lager and lunches I was not happy to find that after cutting down on my fitness regime for approx 3.5 months mym weight has ballooned to 16 stone 8. Not impressed.

So my diet begins today - I will chart my progress as I want to lose this weight and get down to 13.5 if possible in 3 to 4 months tops.

Match report - Northamptonshire v Mid Glamorgn

Score 2 - 13 : match won by Mid Glamorgan

Another convincing win at our  first away match with convincing  debut performances from Michelle Smith and Simon Rowe.

Three cars rendeavoued at the Caldra Mac Donanalds just off Junction 24 and after some light refreshments - or to be accurate Mac Donalds breakfasts the journey began.  Drivers were our very own chairman Mr Huw Wilson, Meirion Day and Andrew Woodland.

The mood was upbeat and team spirit was high, after having fun with the sat nav's Wilson showed off his superior driving skills to get us to the Wellingborough
Tesco where the team stocked up on food and drinks as Northamptonshire don't provide refreshemnts.

Mr Rowe made use of this break and popped into Electronics World to bad a 2gb card for his camera to ensure that action shots of the days events were available.

After leaving Tesco we arrived at the school early and took the opportunity to warm up before the other team arrived.

With the mood still good the home team arrived, they were a very pleasant bunch, I would say a relatively young team but then again as MS Walkley described me as a fossil everyone might be young to me. I can take consolation in being a Veteran in 8 years :)

Singles kicked off, Vikki Jones had finished her game before breaking a sweat, Kiri also ploughed through winning in two straight games.

The mens saw Andrew Woodland taking his game comfortably and the final score before the doubles was 3 - 1.

The doubles kicked off around 2pm, with Mid Glamorgan taking everything, our mens first team went to three but all other games were taken in two.

On the switcharound we again won everything this time all games were taken in two, another great round of badminton.

On the final leg a switcharound in the mixed saw Andrew and Helen and Roy and Nicole winning both games.

A final score as stated above of 13 - 2. A good day out and great badminton.
