Mid Glam 11 - West Glam 3

A big thank you to West Glam for bringing a team to play, it was a great match, with nearly a full set of games played.

In the end Mid Glam eased ahead with a score of 11 games to 3, the second ladies reversed was not played due to lack of time.

The games were closer than the score shows.

Team Coach

A decision will be made this week on who will be the official team coach for Mid Glamorgan for the 2008 / 2009 season.

Some additional info - Roy Watkins - AKA Ginger Power, has reversed his decsion to retire and is back in training for another season, will he make the grade - only time will tell.

Mid Glamorgan Open - WSS Entry

The Mid Glamorgan Open was held in The Michael Sobell Sports Centre in Aberdare on Saturday 11th October.

We are already looking for sponsors for the Mid Glam WSS 09. To find out what options are available for local businesses, please contact us for further details.

Options include Trophy Sponsorship, Court Banner Advertising, Web Advertising, Digital Media and Entry Form.

Training Sessions

Whilst we have preserved St Cenydd as the location for our County matches, we were unable to secure the hall in the week so have had to loom elsewhere.

Training sessions will be held on weeknights, Wednesday or possibly Thursdays in Abercynon sports center.

Technical Advisor

Don Griffiths has very kindly volunteered to be a Technical Advisor to the team, offering advice on footwork, strategy and fitness where required.

It is hoped Don (who has coached many internationals over the years, Richard Vaughan, Kelly Morgan, Mark Richards to name but a few) will play a big part in the flow of players from Junior to Senior Counties.
